"Yoga" an Indian science developed some 5000 years ago & evolved since then as a means to achieve the goal of our highest Joy through sadhna that comes from the realization in direct experience of the center of consciousness, the Self, the Atman or Purusha, which is one and the same with the absolute reality. Meditation is one of the Five Principles of Yoga. It is the practice by which there is constant observation of the mind. It requires you to focus your mind at one point and make your mind still in order to perceive the 'self'. Through the practice of Meditation, you will achieve a greater sense of purpose and strength of will.
